Some stuff I’ve done
MAS
VP Technology
Helped shepherd the agency through the pivot from in-person events to a digital/distributed practice during the COVID-19 pandemic. Developed digital and software development service lines from the ground up. Advised companies like Crowdstrike, Zendesk, and Postmates on technology strategy as they shifted from in-person to digital experiential marketing.
VP Interactive Production
Ran an R&D/manufacturing facility and led teams of engineers, designers, and developers to make things like ML-powered candy dispensers for GCP, cardboard Bluetooth speaker kits for Google, and AR photobooths for Verizon.
BeSide
Co-Founder, Managing Director
Started and ran an experiential technology studio. Led teams to design and build all sorts of projects at the intersection of software, hardware, and human interaction for brands like Cadillac, Armani, Google, Dell, Samsung, Visa, American Express, Tiffany & Co, GQ, The City of New York, and Refinery29. Built really complicated show-control systems for a chain of escape rooms and a Walking Dead themed-entertainment tour. Helped a company building self-driving cars develop and prototype rider-experience. Fabricated MVPs for hardware startups.
Sold BeSide in 2018 to MAS, an experiential marketing agency.
Media Designer
Thought theatrical projection design seemed cool. Got a BFA in stage design and joined United Scenic Artists. Worked as a designer or associate designer on a bunch of Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional, and touring shows. Used projection mapping to digitally-restore damaged 15th-century art in Nepal. Worked with entertainers like Dave Chappelle, Third Eye Blind, and David Byrne. Ran a media design studio called Imaginary Media that worked with clients like The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
